I create performances with freedom, playfulness, and a generosity of spirit. I endeavor to create new experiences for audiences to access depth, openness, curiosity and permission.
As a music educator, I teach piano lessons for child and adult beginners and voice lessons for ages 12 and up, all levels. I've taught for over 12 years inside individual lessons, group classes, daycares, and schools. I currently teach at the Guthrie and in my private studio. I nurture a lifelong love and connection to music while equipping students with the best tools. Beyond the basics, I teach songwriting (even for kids!), how to read chord sheets for pop/rock/folk, how to self-accompany and more. My students build confidence and are encouraged to make music on and off the piano bench with their friends, families and communities.
I help my clients and community to shed perfectionism and a need for approval while connecting to their own voice, so they can create their authentic, intentional work. By working with me, people rediscover their deep inner knowing so they make and/or sing with confidence and meaning. I don’t believe in waiting for an organization or institution to give you permission to be an artist; I don’t allow my clients to accept an unfulfilling creative life and passively hope that something will change.
I hope you’ll make the choice today to try something different and move toward your dreams!
